Here is a way to keep your plastic plants from floating to the top of the tank. Back when I had a plecos he use to up root my plastic plant, also when I was cleaning the substrate I would do it. When it came time to set up a new tank I got some aquarium grade silicone and siliconed the plants to the bottom of the tank. I then let it dry, later I put in my substrate (gravel) and those plants never came free again. Later when I planted real plants I reached in to the bottom and pulled them out.

I wonder if that would work for the ones that I use on the ones that don't stick well in the back and sides of my tanks?
