Hi my partner and I have obtained a piece of land. In this land lays a 12acre lake, Curculated, airiated and natural spring fed. Now I would like to know any and all info required to pull the 1500 sturgeon that is located in this lake to one area. I tried bait and it only attracted catfish. The problem is we dont want to stress the mamas as they are full of Solid Gold so to speak. I need them to corral up so we can move them to holding tanks. Any advice on how to do this??

Seen people herd fish in broad shallow ponds using many small boats and sticks to beat the water moving slowly across the pond. At the end of the pond they would form more of a semi-circle and pick up fish in nets that were 6foot round flat things with a stick handle on it. (Pisciculture in Tiljala, Calcutta)
Perhaps herding into a gentle overflow into a very humane trap or aquaduct (large plastic tube) to the tanks.

Wow. What a job! I wouldn't want to destroy all the natural life that exists in the pond, but what about draining most of the water out forcing the fish into a workable area, and then using nets to remove the fish? My stepmother and I used to use these nets that were about 30 feet long and 3 feet deep, long rectangles basically, and they had 3 foot long vertical posts to hold the net vertical at each end. There were floats along the top edge and weights along the bottom edge. We would find an area of a lagoon/tidal marsh area we could trap the fish and other species she was doing research on, set up the net closing off and trapping the mouth of an area, and then we would walk toward the end of the little lagoon and eventually pull all the fish and such up onto the beach. We would count and record all we caught and then let them all go. This might stress the fish out a bit, but it doesnt seem practical to try netting 12 acres. You could drain it down to say 1/4 acre, remove the fish you want, and then allow the pond to refill. Maybe you could research nets and see how many you could catch without draining the pond. Is this pond deep? Does it have a lot of things like stumps, logs, rocks that would make dragging a net more difficult? How much do you estimate can be made from these fish? Pretty interesting idea!

Well I have a layout of the pond and the bottom scale. But I dont want to destroy the natural resources along the bank and such. We will Get R Done one way im sure. But we dont want to kill them just check them for Caviar. Ripe too ripe ect... But its $160per OZ. We are talking bucket fulls so the outcome can and will be superb. But this is only our own sturgeon , The Caviar Company will stock their own sturgeon thus needing overlook of operations. I have been doing plenty studies but nowhere in my studies was how to retrieve fish of such a number. Its like knowing a spot in the ocean where a ship sank, And in this ship was a number of gold plates strowed throughout. But one thing you cannot find oxygen to go down there. Yes the $$ it would produce could be a such a large number. But we have swore to not lower the level of the pond not one inch. About the depth right now its rather low so the deepest would be around 60Ft According to the depth finder.

I think you should force them to shallow waters with a net and 2 trawlers maybe. I remember seeing people in the amazon do this to catch Discus and Angelfish.
