| OK. I'm going to figure out how to do this picture thing right and put all my pics in one place and make them a good size. Beautiful gar don't you all think?

| I edited the part here where I'm having a fit uploading pics. I'm not very good with computers, but mine is pretty new and it should be easy. Why can't I just browse, find the pics I want, and then upload them? Addendum: I figured it out and I'm done whining! I think I did find a way with my computer to do it. I first make a sized copy that will fit on the page, upload it and then paste it. I think that's what I did. Can you see the three gars hiding at the bottom in this pic? They're great ambushers.

| On rate my fish tank you are given the option of uploading the picture from your computer or a photo sharing site. Here you have to uploaded the picture on a web site such as Photobucket.com. On photobucket you upload the pictures from your computer, under each picture are 4 different codes. These are the types of codes you will get. Email & IM Direct Link HTML Code IMG Code This is the exact order that they will appear on that site, the one you would want for posting pics is the bottom one" IMG code", all you do is copy it and paste it in your post. You will not have to use any of the buttons that are above if you do it that way. I have used photobucket for 3 years and have over 60 pictures on it, so you'll be able to load a lot of them on there. I would recommend that you register on photobucket, most people I know that post on forums use it. I hope I'm not telling you something you already now. LOL _________________

| OK! I finally got it. Sorry about my hissy fit! I'm just frustrated about things in my life right now. I have 4 bad disks in my back and I'm only 42 yesterday. I had to change careers because back to back massages at a big spa was killing my back, I went to school for respiratory therapy and now my back is acting up again. I had a hospital just call this morning for an interview, but I'm afraid of what will happen to me if my back really goes out. I may have to have half of my back fused to my hips, and I'm otherwise in great shape. I don't want to become an invalid. I want to stay healthy and active till I'm 100! ANYWAY!!!! I hope you guys like my tank and fish. I love them.

| The gars are beautiful, I am going to be setting up some more tanks in the next little while, and one is going to be for gars. If I have questions, for sure I will ask you first! _________________ I have been keeping aquariums most of my life. | I'm really tired right now, but I'll write more about them soon! I'm still doing research on them, particularly about whether they need a slightly brackish water to thrive in. Someone told me that gars need salt so they don't have fatal bacterial infections. I'm also studying about municipal water hardness and other toxic additives and their adverse effects on plants. I'll keep posting here about these guys. When I'm confident with the uploading process I'll resize the first two pics. After the next pic I upload I'll do it. |

| Thanks Zebra. All that nasty brush algae is sure to come back, so I wanted to get some pics in before it does. I'm going to remove the fish and do the dreaded copper treatment ASAP. I'm afraid it may kill off the java moss that has grown on the wood, but maybe not. If anyone who is into plants sees this stuff growing on plants they are buying don't buy them. This algae is the very worst plague to get rid of. Check out Florida spotted gars on YOUTUBE. There's some cool videos of them eating mice and goldfish. I don't like some of the bare tanks some people keep them in. I prefer to use up some of the room in a large tank with large plants and other natural features that I think both keeps them a bit smaller but happier at the same time. They're not a very active fish much of the time. They do play in the bubbles created by my powerhead's venturi feature but most of the time they either sit on the bottom or hang at the top of the tank, and since my computer is right next to the tank, they like to keep an eye on me too. |

| | I'm sure glad you got these on here, they are awesome. Their tankmates are too. Is that an arawana, and who is behind it? |

| | There's a tilapia next to the arowana, and 2 "hydro" gars, form the amazon at the top on the right. |

| | what are you going to do with that arowana when it gets big? release it? those grow to like 6 feet. I went to D.C. and seen some massive ones. They were in a huge tank looked to be a couple thousand gallons if not more. It was an amazonian setup type. They are amazing fish and get reallly really big and fat. I think the ones I saw had to weigh 500-600 lbs. |

| | Um...The arowana now lives at the aquarium store with another big one in a 2-300 gallon tank. I usually wouldn't get a fish I wouldn't be able to care for throughout it's life except that this fish was not getting allong with the others in my tank, and frankly was grumpy all the time. My 100 gallon temporary gar tank now only has 2 characins (sometimes refered to as hydro-gars), 3 Florida gars, and 1 common pleco. It is planted, under stocked, and over filtered which helps me by not requireing very much effort to care for. |

| | You never saw my gars? Man I had some weird dreams last night. It was like a gathering of magikal people and was totally cool. I miss some of that stuff. |
