How many of you give you fish names? I met this guy at my lfs and he has names for all his fish. I have never even thought of doing it and even thought it was kind of odd. Rolling Eyes

I have never named any of my fish, but know several people that do. I have just never really thought of naming a fish becouse I figure it would be odd to name one and not the others and that is just to many names.

My son named our Dojo loach "Pingy". I thought it was a great name for the fish and that fish was with us for years. I think it hopped out one day as I found it on the floor. It's now immortalised in the freezer.

I'm not very good at coming up with names for fish or other animals. My cat's name is Jovani. It used to be my son's mothers cat and I inherited her. She named the cat after one of her boyfriends as she liked to name everything from the many boyfriends she's had. She's Afghan and she wanted to name our son Ali but I wasn't going for that. We chose Adam, which just happened to be one of her past boyfriends too, but I liked the name, and it suited both Afghan and American culture, and besides, I liked the name.

Don't have any of my present fish named at this time. Maybe when my son comes for the summer he'll name some of the fish.

NEWS FLASH: One of my stepfathers large Coy died yesterday. They said it had been looking sick for a while, but they were pretty upset. They're going to have it autopsied.

I looked at it and it seemed to have very red inflamed gills, and also had red lesions all over it's body. I thought it looked like flukes or some other parasite. I guess we'll find out after the autopsy.
