The Killifish that i want are the Guenther's Notho (Nothobranchius Guentheri) from the Cyprinodontidae family. Males have red tail fins, and each scale on their body is blue or green outlined in red. Females are dull in color, with dark spots or rows of spots on the body and fins. I want true blood no cross breed, and i want 2 males 4 females from the same family and same generation. It's alot to ask for but i will hold out till i get what i want. I want to start with good breeders if they are mix breed the might not produce healthy eggs and might not breed at all.

SO you want the most perfect east african killie in the universe and you are facing some obstacles there, are you. No kidding?

The 2006 Glen Axlerod shows me what you're after. I missed my vendor today but I could put it to him right along here, with a picture and discussion.

The 1990 Axlerod and Schultz gives description of the N. sp. as Guenthers and I understand that is NOT what you're after. ie. NO chocolate edge on tail fin.
I'm seeing that a slight colorless edge, or no edge variance, on crimson tail is normal for what Guenther named his fish.

I'm working with photos here.
Catch me if I'm wrong on that.

(If I end up with 20gal tanks lined up across the bedroom floor here, my girlfriend will send ME to abu dabi in a O2 pressurized double plastic bag)

the book that i got (simon & schuster's guide to freshwater and marine aquarium fishes) has only half page dicription and photo. I've seen pics of alot of killis scince i've been looking to get them, and the Guenther's Notho's tail is all crimson red, green fins, blue scales with crimson red outlines yellow face and front part of the belly. The wanting of true blood Guenther's Notho killi's is due to the fact that there are about 20 or more othe types of killi's that look almost simular, and if you breed differnt genes you get differnt looks and i want one look .

I don't have a rant really I just haven't had time to get to the forum and noticed it looks as if no one else has either, I hope everyone hasn't given up on this forum. Celticwraith has put a far amount of work into this site and it would really suck if it was for nothing. I know I had to do a lot of reading due to the fact that I haven't been on the site for some time now and will have to try and make more time to log on.

Don't worry, this site is a good thing, people are just going like hell trying to make as much money as possible to pay for next winter's heat.

That and my girlfriend has had a book on here for two weeks and I haven't dared touch it.

System at work will not be up again until 8-20-08, either.

'Been framing and figurin' and throwin' boards like crazy as much as I can stand till I'm shootin' myself in the foot each day.

Forgot to throw boards last night. WHAT was I thinking?

And now I'm going to play with my kids tonight and ask them to help me catch up over the weekend. (They love it, for a little while. They see make it easy and follow example.)
